“BLOSSOMS IN THE DUST.’’ For the first time in the history of the motion picture, a living woman selected the star she wanted to recreate her life on the screen. The woman is Mrs Edna Gladney, of Fort Worth, superintendent of the Texas /Children’s Home and Aid Society. The star is Greer Garson, who plays Mrs Gladney in “Blossoms in the Dust,” Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer picture co-starring Walter Pidgeon and which will be shown tonight and Tuesday at the Regent Theatre. When Mrs Gladney, who has found happy homes for more than 2000 babies, learned that the studio was interested in making a picture inspired by her life, she immediately named Miss Garson as her choice for ; the role.
