LEAGUE OF MOTHERS ENJOYABLE ENTERTAINMENT. (“Times-Age” Special.) A very pleasant time was spent at the residence of Mrs E. P. Eccles, McMaster Street, on Saturday evening, when the members of the League of Mothers’ Choir entertained their husbands. The programme consisted of glee and carol singing and competitions. A muchappreciated supper was provided. The competition winners were Mesdames M. Greathead. T. N. Smallwood. A. H. Bull, Miss Hill, and Mr T. N. Smallwood. After supper, Mrs A. York thanked Mrs Eccles for the use of her room. The gathering terminated with the singing of the League hymn, Auld Lang Syne, and the National Anthem. The entertainment provided was greatly appreciated, and those responsible are to be congratulated on the excellent arrangements made. BOWLING PROGRESSIVE PAIRS TOURNEY. In the progressive pairs tournament played at the week-end, F. Harrington won the skips’ section with 5 wins, and J. Reed won the leads section with Siwins. Other scores were:—Skips: F. Dennes and W. Higgison, 4 wins; G. Brunton. R. Thompson and H. B. Wallace, 3 wins; A. Thompson. 31 wins. Leads: T. Connolly, 41 wins; H. J, Nightingale, 4 Wins; J. Burden and A. G. Peterson, 3 wins; J. Stringfellow, 2 wins; A. Johns, 21 wins; S. Brice and J. Coleman, 1 win each. The final of last season's phampion fours was played on Saturday, when H. Wallace, J. Stringfellow, S. Shedden and H. G. Carter defeated J. Reid. T. Connolly, F. Dennes and W. Higgison. Playing on Saturday for the Campbell Cup, H. W. Feast beat H. R. Feast, and H. Wallace beat S. Brice. In the handicap singles, H. W. Feast beat E. Maddison, N. McLeod beat H. R. Feast, S. Shedden beat J. Burden, A. Thompson beat H. McPhee, G. Brunton beat C. Larsen, F. Dennes beat G. Burns, H. Carter beat W. Higgison. Personal Items. Mrs J. Wise, of Wellington, spent the week-end with her daughter, Mrs J. Robb, East Street. Mr and Mrs C. Grigg, of Wellington, were the guests of Mr and Mrs C. G. Bouzaid, Main Street, for the week-end. TOWN HALL “WAGONS ROLL AT NIGHT." Tomorrow night's programme will be headed by the outstanding drama, "Wagons Roll At Night.” in which Eddie Albert and Sylvia Sidney portray the principal characters.
