DEMONSTRATIONS AT SEVERAL PLACES FOUR MONTHS SINCE GANDHI’S ARREST. MANY TAKEN INTO CUSTODY.' (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.25 a.m.) NEW DELHI, December 10. The police yesterday fired on hostile crowds at Ahmedabad, killing one and wounding three. Sixteen were arrested. There were similar demonstrations in Bombay, in which trams and police patrolcars were stoned. Students at Lucknow University raided the registrar’s office and set fire to his records. The demonstrations are. believed to mark the completion of four months since Gandhi’s arrest on August 9. The police last night. simultaneously raided houses in Poona city. .They seized quantities of chemicals for manufacturing bombs and two revolvers and ammunition. They arrested thirty, including two schoolteachers and several students.
