ACCIDENTAL DISCOVERY OF SUBSTITUTE. SUITABLE FOR WAR WEAPONS. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.25 a.m.) NEW YORK, December 10. A substitute for sponge rubber suitable to use in tanks, aeroplanes and other war equipment was .accidentally discovered in the laboratories of the Bauer and Black Co. During experiments to .find a substitute for adhesive tape, a kettle boiled over and contents foamed up, yielding a rubber substitute. .
