WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION WINS FOR RED STAR AND ' COLLEGE. sensational bowling by R. WATSON. Sensational bowling by Ron Watson for the Red Star seniors against Old Boys at the Wairarapa College grounds on Saturday was the outstanding' feature of the Wairarapa Cricket Association’s senior championship fixtures. Watson, who played his first game for Red Star, put up one of the finest bowling performances ever recorded in the Wairarapa senior championship by taking 7 wickets for 5 runs in three overs. He took the last six wickets for one run. He bowls a good length, medium pace ball, which nips up sharply from the pitch. Old Boys had 4 wickets down for 103 when Watson went on to bowl, and the final wicket fell at 118. For Red Star, Mahoney and Marsh put on 128 runs for the second wicket. Wins were secured by Red Star and Wairarapa College.

SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

RED STAR v. OLD BOYS. Red Star defeated Old Boys by 53 runs on the first innings. F. Hoar, F. Williams, Wysocki, Linden and Cheevers were absent from the Red Star team. Old Boys were without the services of Barr and Fitzpatrick. McMichael bowled splendidly for Old Boys, his last four wickets costing only 8 runs. Red Star, 171 (Mahoney 62, Marsh 39, Shaw 14; D. McMichael 7 for 36, Jones 1 for 17, A. Whiteman 1 for 32). Old Boys, 118 (Miller 38, W. Whiteman 25, D. Stevens 19. Jones 10; Watson 7 for 5, Bell 2 for 33, Mahoney 1 for 46).

COLLEGE V. AIR FORCE

EASY WIN FOR COLLEGE. On the College grounds, Wairarapa College had an easy win over the Air Force team. Scores: — Wairarapa College, 3 wickets for 203 (Welch 76, Lever 46, McGregor not out 46, Hayes 30; Burton 2 for 43, Slight 1 for 41). Air Force, 118 (Ireland 34, Burton 32, Avery 24; O’Brien 6 for 18, Hayes 2 for 0, Hourigan 2 for 38.)
