SOLDIERS’ DANCE ' PRIVATE JAMES HEWITT HONOURED. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance of settlers and visitors at the Kopuaranga Hall on Saturday night at a dance in honour of Private James Hewitt, who has returned from the Middle East. On behalf of the settlers of the district, Mr C. P. Jarrett welcomed Private Hewitt and made him a presentation of a cheque. Private Hewitt returned thanks. Music for the dancing was provided by Mi' Jack West, and extras were played by Mr Bodie and L.A.C. Rooderkerk (saxophone). L.A.C. Cecil Torr sang, for which his wife was accompanists. The duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr Jarrett. The gathering proved most successful And enjoyable.
