A chess tournament in which twelve, leading Soviet masters took part recently concluded in Kuibyshev. The first prize was won by the Ukrainian champion Boleslavsky with nine points, the second by the young Moscow grand master Smyslov with eight points. Third, fourth and fifth places were shared by grand master Lilienthal, the Lithuanian master Mikenas and a Leningrad player, with seven and a half points each.
