LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST FAIR TO MILD. SHOWERS IN THE RANGES. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST:- Moderate westerly winds changing temporarily to southerlies this evening. Showers likely in ranges, otherwise weather fair to mild, with cool temperatures. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Mainly fair. LOCAL REPORT. Mr N. W. Towns reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday:—Shade temperature, maximum, 73.1; minimum, 53.1; terrestrial, 50.5; rain, 9 points. Mr Towns reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Shade temperature ,maximum, 67.1; minimum, 47.1; terrestrial, 47.2; rain, 22 points. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 13 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday, and 23 points for a similar period up till 9 a.m. today. Draw your blinds at 7.45 o’clock tonight; raise them at 5 a.m. tomorrow.
