Fall Down Hillside.
rail uuvvn iiiiioiuv. Trevor Clark, aged 7 years, of Bell Street. Featherston, was admitted to the Masterton Hospital last night with injuries to his chin which he received in a fall down a hillside. His condition is satisfactory.
Struck by Lightning. The Mahunga Golf Club house was struck by lightning during Sunday afternoon’s storm. Members sheltering in the hut had an unenviable experience. The telephone was blown out, but the hut was not seriously damaged.
Amalgamation Move. In order to release trained radio technicians for service in the forces, the technical sections of the National and Commercial Broadcasting Services have been amalgamated in Auckland under the control of the National Broadcasting Service. This move is similar to that in other parts of the Dominion. The number of technicians to be released is not known, but an officer of the department said it would be highly satisfactory. The changes introduced will not affect the programmes.
