MAHUNGA CLUB ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The annual meeting of the Mahunga Golf Club was held in Masterton last night. Mr A. Owen Jones presided over a large attendance. In speaking to the annual report, Mr Jones drew attention to the fact that what improvements had been done during the season were due to the voluntary work of members, and said that the thanks of the club were due to those workers. Regarding catering, it was the first occasion on which the ladies had undertaken the work, and all would agree that it had proved most successful, and the club was indebted to the ladies. Mr Jones offered his congratulations to the winners of the various championships and competitions. The financial position was shown as being exceptionally good. The annual report was adopted on the motion of the chairman, seconded by Mr I. McGregor. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr T. Jordan; president, Mr G. H. Perry; vice-presidents, Messrs Geo. Wagg and E. Jenkins, Senr.; captain, Mr I. I. McGregor; ladies’ captain, Mrs N. Caldwell; committee, Messrs S. Jenkins, C. Sutherland. J. Morris, F. Traynor, A. Ward, G. B. Young and Miss E. Wyber; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr J. G. McFarlane; hon. auditor, Mr D. B. Curry. It was decided to send Mr Curry a letter of thanks for his work during the past season.
It was reported that with regard to the supply of golf balls, it had been found impossible to build up any stocks, and that the sale of golf balls had been suspended until next season.
