SWIMMING CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the annual meeting of the Featherston Amateur Swimming Club held in the Red Cross Society’s rooms last evening, the following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr J. W. Card; president, Mr W. Johnston; vice-presidents, Messrs D. H. S. Riddoford, J. C. Bidwill, R. W. Matthews, H. C. Hunter, T. G. Hardie, f. E Lang, N. C. C Shepherd, J. Saba Junr., W. Davis, P. A. Wilton, L. G. Rasmussen and L. Le Bone; secretarytreasurer, Miss A. Johnston; club captain, Miss P. Hatton; hon. auditor, Mr J. G. McKenzie; hon. surgeon, Dr. G. S Sharp; committee, Misses P. Hatton, N. Watson, C. and F. Saba, M. Davis Mrs M. Johnston, Messrs D. Holland, C Rasmussen and P. AdamIt was decided to open the baths on Saturday, December 5. Mrs Hatton was appointed, custodian. Enjoyable Euchre Party. An enjoyable euchre party was held in the Red Cross Society’s rooms yesterday afternoon . Mrs Baker was the winner. . , „ Donations were received from Mesdames H. Buck, N. Matthews and McKenna. . A competition was won by Mis Charles.
Personal Items. L.A.C. Harry Edwards has. returned to Wigram from a week’s visit to his h °Miss G. Ridler, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs Lawson. COSY THEATRE “DANNY BOY.” Tomorrow night’s brilliant programme will be headed by an outstanding picture, “Danny Boy,” a thrilling story of old Ireland, in which John Warwick Wilfred Lawson, Ann Todd and Grant Tyler have the leading roles. The picture is one of warm human interest and should not be missed by those who appreciate the best only in talkies.
