SOLDIERS’ DANCE SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) A successful soldiers’ dance was held in the Town Hall on Saturday night. The music was supplied by Mrs Ashton's Orchestra. ■ Extras were played by Miss N. Prussing and a soldier. Mr V. Ashton was a popular M.C. Mrs Arch. Clark provided the beautiful sweet peas and roses which decorated the stage and supper tables. The junior patriotic committee were in charge of the supper arrangements. Personal Items. Mrs Alice Johnston was a weekend visitor to Linton. The services at St. John’s Church last night were conducted by the Rev. W. F. 'Stent .of Carterton. Mr Trevor Jury, of the Post Office staff, is spending a holiday in Christchurch. , ,„ T • X Mesdames V. McCutcheon (Napier), K Guthrie (Palmerston North), R. Carr (Wellington), Burke, A. Richardson, of Auckland, were visitors to Featherston for the weekend. SWIMMING CLUB ANNUAL MEETING TONIGHT. The Featherston Amateur Swimming Club will hold its annual meeting tonight at 8 o’clock in the Red Cross Society’s rooms, when it is hoped that there will be a good attendance oi members and intending members. COSY THEATRE “DANNY BOY.” An outstanding dramatic offering, “Danny Boy,” will be shown at the Cosy Theatre on Wednesday night. The leading roles are taken by John Warwick, Wilfred Lawson, Ann Todd and Grant Tyler.
