PATRIOTIC SOCIETY SUCCESSFUL GAMES NIGHT (“Times-Age” Special.) The Patriotic Society held a very successful games night on Saturday. The winners in the card tournament were: —Ladies, Miss Doyle; men, Mr T. Smith and Mr G. Godinagh, equal. A competition for a tea set donated by Mrs R. Kebbell realised £6 3s, and was won by Mr E. Seymour; a parcel of goods to the value of 10s, donated by Mrs Taverner, brought in £2 6s, and was won by Mr E. Anderson; a pair of shoes presented by Mrs Groves realised £1; flowers donated by Mrs Henford brought 5s 3d, and roses from Mrs Johnson realised 2s 8d at auction; vegetables (Mr Low), brought Is 3d; gooseberries (Mrs G. Napier), 2s 6d; and lettuces (Mr H. Percy), 3s lOd. A donation of £1 was received from Mr G. Napier. * The hostesses were Mesdames G. Nap. ier and McDonald. The total takings amounted to £l4 4s 6d.
