GREYTOWN
RED CROSS SOCIETY EXECUTIVE MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) A meeting of the executive of the Red Cross Society was held on Tuesday evening. Mr A. W. Horton, who occupied the chair, complimented Mrs F. C. Bunny on having been made assistant District Commandant for the Wairarapa. Aletter of thanks was read by Mrs J. R. Jury for a parcel received by Private Noel Wallace, a Greytown soldier. Mrs Jury read the delegates’ report of the Dominion Council meeting. A letter of thanks was read by Mrs Rishworth, Masterton, secretary of Voluntary Aids, notifying the branch that the honre nursing examination would be held on December 6. As funds were urgently needed for the branch a shop day was arranged for Friday, December 11. Mrs Maitland is to be asked to take charge of the Junior Red Cross class. Presbyterian Garden Party. Mr and Mrs Alex. Johnson have made their garden available for the garden party to be held by the Ladies’ Guild of the Greytown Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 28. There will be the usual stalls and games, and the afternoon tea arrangements will be in the capable hands of a special committee. TOWN HALL EXCELLENT COMEDY. Excellent comedy is provided in “Cash and Carry,” which will be presented at the Town Hall tonight. Ann Sothern, George Murphy and Robert Stirling have the leading roles. The second feature will be “Cadets on Parade.”
