STRONG PROTEST
MADE BY EX-KING CAROL. ARREST OF RUMANIANS IN- U.S.A. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.20 a.m.) NEW YORK, November 18., Describing himself as one of Hitler’s greatest enemies,- Ex-King Carol, of Rumania, interviewed in Mexico City, said the detention at Detroit of three Rumanians was unjust. The Free Rumanian organisation had existed for almost ten years and had never ceased sustaining the cause of the United Rations. To accuse it of being an agent of an enemy Government was not only an outright lie, but completely ridiculous. . , ~ The Assistant District Attorney, Mi L Hopping, yesterday stated that Father Moraru (one of the Rumanians arrested in Detroit) had twice visited Carol in Mexico and had received 13,000 dollars from him to further die Free Rumanian movement.
