DEMAND ON HITLER
MADE BV GERMAN GENERALS ACCORDING TO STOCKHOLM REPORT. . TRANSFER OF AUTHORITY ■ WANTED (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.20 a.m.) LONDON, November 18. 'Pile Moscow radio quotes a report from Stockholm that a group of German generals, headed by kield-Marshal von Lisi, is insisting on the reorganisation of the High f'oimnand, including a transfer of authority to the generals. They also demand the restoration of outstanding military experts like Generals von Braucliilsch, von Leeb and others, whom Hitler has removed.
Opposition in military circles has grown as a result of recent development. A statement, attributed to a former Chief of the General,Staff, General Halfer, on the eve of his dismissal, is widely repeated: “Hitler’s refusal to listen to the advice of experienced generals led to the failure of the 1942 campaign and to colossal losses.”
