METHODIST CHURCH
NEW MINISTER WELCOMED.
AT LADIES’ GUILD GATHERING. There was a large attendance at the Methodist Sunday schoolroom, Masterton, last night, when the Methodist Ladies’ Guild held an enjoyable social, gathering. Mr F. G. Rutter presided. The following contributed to an excellent musical programme:—Mrs W. Watson, nianoforte solo; Townswomen’s Guild Choir, tw'o glees; elocutionary items, Mr Robert Wakelin, solos, Mesdames Spicer and L. J. Burke; recitations, Mrs Leadley; pianoforte solos, Mrs Alan Barnes. Mr Rutter introduced the Rev. Francis Parker, who is to take charge of the church in Masterton during the Rev. H. S Kings’s absence on military service, and Mrs Parker. Mr E M. Hodder welcomed Mi ana Mrs Parker to the circuit and expressed the hope that their stay would be a happy one. Mr Parker suitably replied. Supper was served by the. Stalls run by the Ladies Guild did brisk business. .
