WARTIME SERVICE LARGE CONGREGATION LAST NIGHT. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large congregation at the united wartime service in the Town Hall last night. The preacher was the Rev H. Bloomfield and the prayers were taken by the Rev J. R. Higgs. The combined choirs rendered an anthem and "Father in Heaven" was sung by the junior members of the choir. Miss Collins was the accompanist. Soldiers’ Dance. There was a good attendance at the soldiers’ dance in the Town Hall on Saturday night. Mrs Ashton's Orchestra supplied the music and extras were played by Miss G. Fraser and a soldier. Mr F. Talbot was M.C. The Monte Carlo dance was won by Pte. Currie and Miss N. Tocker. The stage and supper room were artistically decorated with lupins by the Junior Patriotic Supper Committee. Personal Items. Mesdames G. H. Lawson (Auckland), S. R. Longney (Napier), S. Sharman (Auckland), Collins (Auckland), C. Chamberlain (Auckland) and Clapham (Auckland) were weekend visitors to Featherston. Miss Dorothy Bloxam, of the New Plymouth hospital nursing staff, is on a visit to Featherston. COSY THEATRE “INVITATION TO MURDER.” The programme at the Cosy Theatre on Wednesday night will be headed by the thrilling drama, “Invitation to Murder.” This intriguing story deals with the question—is there any such thing as a justifiable murder? The film features an impressive list of screen favourites in the starring roles— Geraldine Fitzgerald. Thomas Mitchell, Jeffrey Lynn and James Stephenson.
