INSURGENT JAPANESE

Strong bands of Japanese residents in the Sao Paolo State of Brazil fought a pitched battle with the Brazilian police, says the “New York Times” Rio de Janeiro correspondent. The Japanese, who were well armed, had been holding up cars and attacking and cross-examining passengers. The nature of the Japanese questions has not been disclosed. An official statement said the police surrounded and took to prison "these yellow bandits.”
