SPORTS IN WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON COLLEGE WINS SHIELD. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. Wellington College, with 52>/ 2 points, again won the McEvedy championship shield al the 1942 Wellington Secondary Schools' Association atheltic championships held at the Basin Reserve. Wellington, on Saturday. St. Patrick's College (Silverstream) was second, with 30 points. Other points gained were: Rongotai, 22Va : Scots, 18: St. Patrick's (Wellington). 11; Wellington Technical. 11: Hutt Valley High School, 7: Wairarapa College, 6: Hutt Valley Memorial Technical College, 4. Two records were broken, the 440 yards junior relay in 49 1-5 and the 440 yards under 14 relay in 51 3-5. . In the relay race Wairarapa College (C. R. Macdonald, R. Sherborne. F. A. Booth and R D. Wilton) were third. J. Geary (Wairarapa College) won the 100 yards race for boys under 14 years of age, F. A. Booth was second in the long jump (intermediate!, and R. Sherborne was third in his heat in the 100 yards intermediate handicap.
