WITH HEAVY LOSSES GERMANS AT STALINGRAD. RUSSIANS.GAIN INITIATIVE IN CAUCASUS. LONDON, November 15. In the latest fighting at Stalingrad, the Germans sent in wave after wave of infantry on a front of little more than 300 yards. On this nar-. row front little tank or air snppport could be given and the attacking enemy infantry suffered exceptionally heavy 1 osses. The Germans admit that with the freezing of the Volga the Russians are able to send more formidable reinforcements into beleaguered Stalingrad. In the Caucasus the Russians have made an advance south-east of Nalchik and at other points have gained the initiaive. North-east of Tuapse they have captured an important height.
