LANSDOWNE SCHOOL

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. PARENTS’ DAY TO BE HELD NEXT MONTH. The usual meeting of the Lansdowne School Committee was held last evening, Mr A. V. Faulknor presiding over a good attendance of members. .An apology for absence was received from Mr H. Peters. Accounts amounting to £1 10s lid were passed for payment. The headmaster reported that the present roll was 252, plus 13 at the hospital, making a total of 2656. The attendance was satisfactory. During the month the school was visited by Messrs Stubbs and Johnston, Inspectors of Schools. Dr. Bibby also visited the school on November 9 in connection with candidates for Dental Nursing training. The secretary of the Board, Mr Deavel, with Mr W. Nicol, had interviewed representatives of the Wujrarapa Transport in reference to the transport of school children. It was decided to hold Parents Day on Wednesday, December 16.-
