LADIES’ AUXILIARY WORK FOR THE FORCES APPRECIATED. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE APPOINTED. Mrs H. E. Pither presided over a meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Ladies’ Auxiliary held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms, Masterton, yesterday .afternoon. A. number of apologies for absence were received. A welcome was extended to new members, Mesdames Marchbanks and Thomas and Miss Chapman. The resignation of Mrs Coddington as an active member was received with regret. Letters of appreciation from soldiers formerly in the district were read. The children of the Central School Services Club wrote asking if the club could put on a free tea for men of the forces. The offer was accepted with thanks and the date for the tea was fixed for November 29. Mrs Williams was elected a life member of the auxiliary. Reports on the hostess evenings and the dances were received. Mention was also made of Y.M.C.A. work in . camps. The next auxiliary dance will be. held on November 21. Mesdames McKay, Nelson, W..Taylor, H. Bannister, R. Keltie, W. Flaws, x N. Bull and H. Henderson were appointed an executive committee. Mr Noel Liebezeit, field secretary, expressed thanks on behalf of the general secretary of the Y.M.C.A., for the good work that was being done in Masterton for men of the forces. The final meeting of the year will be held on December 10.
Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames McKenzie and Rutherford.
