OVERTIME PAY
IN NEW ZEALAND PUBLIC SERVICE. FOR HOURS IN EXCESS OF 44 A WEEK. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Overtime at time and a half for hours worked in excess of 44 weekly, with double rates for Sunday duty, has been decided upon by the Government for public servants. Where overtime conditions are at present on a mofe liberal scale no alteration is to be made. Overtime, where approved, will be paid to all employees in receipt of salaries not exceeding £565 a year. Earnings in one calendar month py way of overtime are not to exceed one-twelfth of the difference between the officer’s salary and £565, or, where applicable, one-thirteenth in each fourweekly accounting period.
