OBITUARY
MR THOMAS GEORGE MASON. Advice has been received in Masterton that Mr Thomas George .Mason, a former well known citizen, died at Te Kuiti yesterday. Mr Mason, who was born in Wellington in 1865, was in business as a chemist in Queen Street for a long period of years (where Mr J. V. Gordon’s premises were situated prior to the earthquake). Mr Mason was elected a member of the Masterton Borough Council in 1885, and after two years’ service on the council resigned his seat and took a trin to England. On his return he again served on the council for a brief period. Mr Mason was a keen fisherman. His wife predeceased him a short time ago. He is survived by two sons, Messrs Heath and Jack Mason.
