0 . MAURICEVILLE COUNCIL MONTHLY MEETING YESTERDAY. RESIGNATION OF OVERSEER. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Mauriceville County Council was held yesterday afternoon. Mr E. W. Cheetham (chairman) presided and there were also present: Councillors A. Gray, A. Forsberg, D. Bennett, and O. Welch. Leave of absence was granted to Councillor J. H. MacDonald. The treasurer’s report, which showed a credit balance of £1392 7s lid, was adopted. It was resolved that the council make application for shares in the N.Z. Counties Co-op. Insurance Co., The 'resignation of the county overseer, Mr C. Seymour, was received and accepted with regret. Councillors ieferred to the good work that had been done by Mr Seymour during Ins 2o years as an employee of the council, zu years of which had been served as overseer. , The council was advised that one ot its employees was going into a military camp in the near future. , Mr - A .Broadbent, of Mauriceville, was re-appointed deputy dog registrai for the ensuing year. The chairman reported that he was taking steps to obtain housing accommodation for the council’s employees.
