GUILTY OF BIGAMY

OFFICER CASHIERED. SENT TO GAOL FOR ONE YEAR (By Telegraph—Press Association.) A.UCKLAND, November 9. The finding of the general courtmartial which recently considered a charge of bigamy brought against Lieutenant Joseph William Godfrey, 2nd N.Z.E.F., has been promulgated by the officer convening the court-mar-tial, Major-General Bell. The Court found prisoner guilty and sentenced him to be cashiered and to be imprisoned for one year with hard labour. Godfrey was charged with having committed bigamy at Cairo on July 22 last by marrying a sister of the N.Z. Army Nursing Service while his wife was still alive in Auckland.
