ENTERTAINMENT OF SOLDIERS

— ... CONCERTS TO BE DISCONTINUED UNTIL FEBRUARY. At a recent meeting of the Masterton Soldiers’ Entertainment Committee, it was decided to discontinue the regular fortnightly concert parties for the entertainment of soldiers until February next, when the position will be reviewed. These concerts have been provided every fortnight since February last, with regular changes of programme. These changes have called for a great deal of rehearsing < and two, and frequently three nights a week were given up by the members of the various parties to rehearsal work. The committee expressed its keen appreciation of the splendid work done by the leaders and members of the different parties who were accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The 'parties were in charge of Mesdames Miller Hope, J. A. Betts and E. J. Rich.
