TWO ENEMY PLANES

SHOT DOWN OVER ENGLISH COAST BOMBS DROPPED IN SOME AREAS. FATAL & OTHER CASUALTIES. LONDON, October 26. Two of the enemy raiders who ventured over the English coast today were shot down, one by fighters and the other by gunfire over the Thames Estuary. London had two short alerts during the morning and there was some gunfire on the outskirts of the capital. In other parts of the country bombs were dropped on two towns in the south of England. Eight fatal casualties were reported and a number of other persons were seriously injured. On the south coast a twin-engined Heinkel was driven off before any bombs had been dropped and another enemy plane off the north-east coast was also driven out to sea.
