CROSSING COLLISION
MOTOR CAR WRECKED. APPRENTICE JOCKEY INJURED. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. . A motor-car returning to Awapum from the Trentham races yesterday was struck by a passenger train on the Ohau crossing, four miles south of Levin at 7 p.m., and one of its occu Dants’ A G. Waddell, an apprentice jockey was taken to hospital at Palmerston North, with head injuries and C °The SS caTbelonged to Mr G W.New horse trainer, who was a the front seat, and was being driven by Mr L. G. Morris, horse gainer. In the back seat were the youthi who is now in hospital and his father, M Fred Waddell, formerly a promment jockey.' Except for Mr WaddelL Junr who was asleep in the back seat when the collision happened, the occupant’s luckily escaped with mmor injuries. Messrs Morris ana Waaaeii, Senr have broken ribs, and Mr New a black eye. After receiving medical attention at the scene of the accident they were able to go home. The’car was hit broadside on and completely wrecked. The rain was a special passenger train bound fo Wellington. It was delayed only a few minutes by the accident.
