<> PROGRESSIVE PAIRS CONTEST PARK CLUB GAMES. KEEN PLAY THROUGHOUT. The weather on Labour Day this year proved ideal for bowling, and the thirtysix players participating in the Masterton Park Club’s progressive pairs tourney enjoyed a splendid day's play on greens that left little to be desired. The large gallery of spectators was treated to some really fine bowling, and keen interest was maintained until the conclusion of the final round, the winning skip, F. Dixon, being decided on the aggregate points. In the leads, R. Spackman won all five games, with an aggregate of 90. Fourth round: Drummond and Macpherson lost to Davies and Jenkins, 13/23; Garard and Carstens beat Lee and Trevorrow, 21/16; Moore and Reader beat Andrews and Kilgour, 21/16; McCord and F. MASTERTON CLUB RESULTS OF RINKS TOURNEY. The rinks tournament, held by the Masterton Bowling Club yesterday was won by Messrs P. Cotter, L. T. Wylie and J. J. Hunter (s). with a total of 4 wins, 71 points. C'ther finalists were R. Lennie. Bannister, C Perry (s), with 4 wins, 64 points, and E. Bassett, F. Mills and W. Reid (s), with 4 wins and 63 points. Mr Hunter’s rink won on the points aggregate. The tournament proved a most enjoyable one to the large number of bowlers taking part.
