Mrs John Butler, of Wellington, spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs R. Latham, Miriam .Street, Masterton. Mi* and Mrs H. M. Sharpies and family, The Parade, Island Bay, Wellington, spent the weekend in Masterton as the guests of Mrs R. Latham, Miriam Street. ■ Mr A. E. Mansford, Mayor of Palerston North, who underwent an operation in hospital, is reported to be progressing satisfactorily. Messrs . Gordon McLeod and John Cole, Junr., of Masterton, were passengers yesterday by the Cook Strait Airways plane to Nelson, where they are spending a holiday.The funeral of the late Mrs M. H. Elliotte took place at the Masterton Cemetery on Saturday afternoon. The Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich officiated. Four grandsons, all of whom are serving with the forces, acted as pall-bear-ers. The funeral was a private one.
