IN THE WESTERN DESERT ATTACKED BY ALLIED AIRCRAFT. LONG LINE OF LORRIES BLOWN UP. LONDON, October 22. The Allied air offensive in the Western Desert continues. The R.A.F. ana American units yesterday chiefly attacked landing grounds. Three enemy fighters were shot down. Allied fight-er-bombers attacked anti-aircraft positions at El Daba and'long-range bombers blew up a long line of petrol lorries and two ammunition lorries. Malta was attacked six times yesterday by fighters and fighter-bomb-ers.
