WOMEN’S DIVISION
INTERESTING ADDRESS ON SHETLAND ISLANDS.
(“Times-Age” Special.) A meeting of the Domen’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in the Anglican Hall. Mrs J. McAnulty presided over a very good attendance. Mr M. Priest gave a most interesting address on the Shetland Islands. Some interesting souvenirs from the Middle East were on view. It was decided that at the next meeting members entertain the mothers and wives of soldiers overseas. They are asked to bring souvenirs for display.
It was decided to forward a. hamper to the A.N.A. Club in Wellington, and each member was asked to contribute cakes, meat, eggs, cheese or anything suitable for the hamper. Two jumpers for merchant seamen, knitted by Mrs Simpson, were handed in.
An interesting letter from an airman was read by Mrs Groves. It was decided to have a stall of R.S.A. articles for sale at the next meeting. The hostesses were Mesdames Hobbs, Carruthers and Farrow. Personal. Official advice has been received that Pte. D. A. Fallaver is a prisoner of war.
