AUSTERITY SHIRTS
o STANDARDS ANNOUNCED IN AUSTRALIA. CONSIDERABLE SAVING OF CLOTH (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, October 21. The standardisation of men’s and boys’ shirts and pyjamas has been announced by the Minister for War Organisation of Industry, Mr Dedman. Men’s shirts will be cut three inches in front, and from three to five inches at the back, according to the wearer’s Included in the new standardised shirt styles is a short open-fronted coat shirt to be worn as a coat in hot weather. It can be worn with or without , a tie. Its length is restricted to 24 inches.
