IHURAUA

SEWING GUILD PARCELS FOR SOLDIERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Ihuraua Patriotic Sewing Guild was held at the home of Mrs C. R. Judd. Mrs Dagg presided. Seven parcels were packed for soldiers in New Zealand camps and eight for overseas. The secretary stated that two members had surrendered 'sufficient coupons to purchase enough flannel for seven shirts. Mrs Collett, a visitor, ■was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for sewing these. Three balaclavas were also handed in. A trophy, donated by Mrs J. L. Heckler, was won by Mrs Collett. . A “bring and buy* stall did brisk business. The takings at the meeting amounted to £1 16s. Donations were received from Mesdames Collett and Godfrey. Afternoon tea was served and a vote of thanks passed to Mrs Judd for her hospitality. The next meeting will be held at Tikitapu.
