Air Chief Marshal Sir Wilfrid Freeman has been appointed chief executive at the Ministry of Aircraft Production. Under the Minister, he will coordinate and direct the production, research and develooment sides of the department. He has retired from the R.A.F. and the Air Council, and the King has promoted him G.C.B. Air Vice-Marshal C. E. H. Medhurst is appointed to act temporarily as ViceChief of the Air Staff, and is an additional member of the Air Council.
