RIBBON PARADE
HELD IN MASTERTON ON
SATURDAY.
THE SUCCESSFUL COMPETITORS
The Wairarapa Kennel Club held a most successful ribbon parade in the Masterton Park on Saturday. Perfect weather and ideal surroundings showed the clogs, of which there were a large number of entries, and a good variety of breeds, off to advantage. After the judging had been concluded, the president of the Kennel Club, Mr H. McKenzie Douglas, congratulated the club and the competitors on such a successful parade. He thanked Mr J. Soler, the judge, and said that the club was exceedingly fortunate in having him as he has judged at shows in both islands of New Zealand. The big ribbons for the variety classes were then presented by Mrs H. McKenzie Douglas, who congratulated each winner.
Mr J. Soler congratulated the competitors on the fine standard of dogs shown. He said he was pleased to see so many good greyhounds. The English collie which won best dog in show competition was a fine specimen of that breed. All the Pekinese were exceedingly good. In fact, he said, all the dogs shown were of a very high standard.
