POTOMAC FLOOD
HEAVY DAMAGE IN MARYLAND & VIRGINIA. AT LEAST FIFTEEN PERSONS DROWNED. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) WASHINGTON, October 17. A flood in the Potomac is slowly receding, after reaching a record level, inundating several low-lying sections of the capital and causing many millions of dollars’ damage in Maryland and Virginia. The damage even exceeded the flood disaster of 1936. At least 15 persons were drowned.
