Mr Towns reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 8 a.m. today:—shade temperature, maximum, 76; minimum, 56.8; terrestrial, 46.8. PHASES OF THE MOON. OCTOBER. First quarter, October 17. Full moon, October 24. Draw blinds at 7.15 p-m. today; raise them at 4.55 a.m. tomorrow.
