WEDDING

SCRIMGEOUR—DAYSH The Methodist Church, Masterton, was artistically decorated on Saturday afternoon when Miss Glen Elsie Daysh, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs A. J. Daysh, Masterton, was married to Private Allan Douglas Scrimgequr, youngest son of Mr and Mrs P. Scrimgeour. Berhampore, Wellington. The Rev. H. S. Kings officiated, ,and Miss C. Donald presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a becoming gown of silver tissue cut on slim fitting lines. Her veil, which was lent by a friend, was held in place by a topknot of white velvet flowers and she carried a shower bouquet of white lilies, carnations, lily of the valley and maidenhair fern. Miss Rhoda Kings, of Masterton, who was bridesmaid, wore a pretty frock of blue tulle over taffeta. Her headdress was of pink flowers and she carried a shower bouquet of pink tulips, spring blossom and maidenhair fern.

The duties of best man were carried out by Pte. Eric Luscombe, of Hawera. Messrs Basil Kings and T. Mannell, of Masterton, were ushers. During the signing of the register, Miss D. Jamieson sang Gournod’s “Ave Maria.”

A large' number of guests were received at the Methodist Church Hall by Mesdames Daysh and Scrimgeour. Mrs Daysh wore a navy and teal ensemble and carried a bouquet of pastel shades, and Mrs Scrimgeour was attired in a navy ensemble and carried a bouquet to tone. Miss Valmae Davis delighted the guests with her rendering of a pianoforte, solo. Numerous telegrams were received from various parts of New Zealand. The. bride’s grand-parents, Mi’ and Mrs J. A. Daysh (Nireaha) and Mrs C. Gillions (Masterton), were present. The bouquets were the artistic work of Mrs Eric Jones. The bridegroom’s gift to the bridesmaid was a gold pendant. When Mr and Mrs Scrimgeour left on a tour of the North Island the bride travelled in a floral frock with honeygold coat and hat tq match.
