WELFARE LEAGUE

MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS

The monthly meeting of the Women’s National Welfare League was held at the Midland Hotel yesterday afternoon. Those present were: Miss Kummer (in the chair), Mesdames A. W. McKenzie, R. C. Drummond, S. Fletcher, S. J. Munn, L. Hunter and S. M. Kilgour. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames T. Jordan, H. E. Hither, A. Carruthers, R. Whyborn. J. B. Millar, Misses Guild, M. and C. Cameron: Mrs Munn reported on visits paid to the public hospital during September. Visitors for October were appointed as follows:— October 13, Mesdames Drummond and Whyborn; October 27, Miss Kummer will arrange the visitors for this day. A donation of a parcel of old linen was much appreciated. Mrs Carruthers reported that a hamper has been dispatched to the A.N.A. Club on September 20. A letter of appreciation from Mrs O’Leary (president of the club) was read.

Mrs McKenzie reported that two families in needy circumstances had been assisted during September.
