SPLENDID HANDIWORK DISPLAY.

MASTERTON PRIZE-WINNERS.

All kinds of knitting, embroidery, tapestry, fancy work, raffia work, dolls, wooden and soft toys, wooden puppets, felt bags, aprons, dresses, petticoats, slippers, leather work, crochet, marquetry, beaten brass, tatting, sewing and darning, were included in a display at Wanganui recently of handiwork carried out by crippled children in various parts of New Zealand. There were 60 competitors and 130 entries, including some fromriMasterton. Among the prize-winners were the following Masterton competitors:—Under 12 years—Best piece of hand knitting: Nola Clarke (Masterton Hospital) 1, Joan Ogden (Masterton Hospital) 2. Best piece of weaving: Rang! Eporo (Masterton Hospital) 1, Gray Fletcher (Masterton Hospital) 2. 12-15 years. — Weaving: Joyce Pavitt (Masterton Hospital). 1. 15-18 years—Embroidery work: Major Namana (Masterton Hospital) 3.
