OBITUARY MR R. C..GYDE. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr Richard Charles Gyde, of Hastwells, who died recently at the age of 74 years, was born at Bexley. Kent, England. He came to New Zealand while in his early ’teens and lived at Eketahuna for a number, of years. He took up a farm at Mauriceville North thirty years ago, where he resided up till the time of his death. Mr Gyde, who was particularly well known in the Eketahuna and Mauriceville district’S, was a keen Forrester and was one of the oldest members of Court Makakahi (Eketahuna). He was a trustee of the Mauriceville North Church and was associated with local school committees. He is survived by a widow, two. daughters, Mesdames C. Corlett (Ballance), K. Ngatuere (Hastwells) and a son, Mr R. L. Gyde (Hastwells).
