FRENCH GENERALS
WEYGAND AND GIRAUD. REPORTED ESCAPE TO BRITAIN. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, September 26. It is persistently rumoured from France that Generals Weygand and Giraud eluded the vigilance of gu'ards and escaped to England. Vichy has not mentioned their whereabouts in the last two months. General Weygand was last reported as arriving at Aix Le Bains for a cure. General Giraud was last mentioned interviewing Marshal Petain after his escape from Germany.
