DEATH SENTENCES
AND TRANSPORTATION FOR LIFE PUNISHMENT OF INDIAN RIOTERS CHARGE OF BEATING CONSTABLE TO DEATH. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) BOMBAY, September 27. Five accused men were sentenced to death and four to transportation for life in the first trials at Nagpur arising from the recent disturbances. All were charged with beating a constable to death, setting fire to a police station, destroying Government property and stealing guns and ammunition.
