JAPANESE NAVAL UNITS
JUNCTION WITH GERMANS ALLEGED. NEWS REGARDED AS POLITICAL PROPAGANDA. (British Official Wireless.) ( Received This Day, 10.20 a.m.) RUGBY, September 25. An enemy announcement that Japanese naval units have joined forces with German warships in the Atlantic is regarded in London naval circles as political propaganda. It is pointed out that a submarine with a particularly valuable cargo or personnel might make the long journey from Singapore or Java if the Japanese had naval units to spare for such a purpose, but it would be done only in. the most exceptional circumstances. There is no actual knowledge of such an operation having taken place.
