LAMBING SEASON
GOOD PERCENTAGE LIKELY.
FAVOURABLE CONDITIONS
A fairly good lambing season has been experienced in the Wairarapa this year. The weather has been ideal and a good percentage is expected. The weather has been remarkable, states a well-known district sheepfanner In the whole of the lambing period there have been only two storms and neither of these occurred in the peak of the season. A large number of twins are in evidence, ine main lambing period begins about the second week in August and continues until the end of September, but not many ewes have still to lamo. Until the middle of this month there had not been very much growth in the grass owing to frosts, though feed is now getting ahead of the sheep and in another fortnight’s time it is considered there should be an ample growth.
