MASTERTON STOCK SALE

PRICES FOR OPENING PENS. Bidding was not very brisk for the opening pens at the Masterton stock sale today. Last week’s rates were maintained in most cases, though a pen of fat wethers of medium quality showed a decline of 2s or 3s a head. Some early prices were: Fat maiden ewes, 26s 9d; fat S.D. ewes, 235; medium condition fat wethers. 335; heavy ewes, 265: store ewes, 12s: f. and f.b.f. hoggets, 18s 9d; prime ewes, 225; light fat ewes, 15s.
