There are many tense situations in whiexi those portraying the chief characters are seen at their best. Charles Boyer has a role which suits him particularly well and he makes the most of it. Jean Arthur is excellently cast and gives a delightful presentation. Boyer is cast in a totally new type of role as Paul Dumond, dashing man-about-town, while Jean Arthur is seen as Irene Vail, the New York mannequin who yearns to break the bonds of her unhappy marriage to the jealous shipping magnate, played by Colin Clive.
